Race For Life - Cancer Research
On Saturday 13th April 2022, our Park Gate office sponsored a local 5K Race For Life event for Cancer Research, travelling through Locks Heath and Warsash, passing by our office. The Park Gate branch welcomed nearly 100 inspirational people that day to provide well-deserved refreshments for all that participated in the walk. We even had the neighbouring bakery provide cakes and doughnuts for all, it really was a fantastic event.
Race For Life events allow Cancer Research to raise vital funds for their life-saving research, and Beals are proud to offer our support and sponsorship for such events. All money raised is donated to Cancer Research UK for use on projects relating to all types of cancer.
TESTIMONIAL
From Vanessa - Race For Life Event Organiser:
"I have recently organised a sponsored Breast Cancer Event and Beals Estate Agents really came on board with the local community event. Going over and above to support the event by offering refreshments mid-walk, providing cash donations and a very generous prize for our raffle Grace was so very helpful in the organisation. Would highly recommend Beals to anyone selling their property"
CHARITY THROUGH THE YEARS
a
Naomi House and Jacksplace
At Beal's, we've always been proud to give something back; we understand the importance of a business's involvement within the local community. Our support for schools, sports teams and local charities, including The Rowans Hospice and Naomi House, has raised over £120,000 to help them carry out their compassionate and vital work within our communities.
From 2015-2019 Beal's donated annual payments to Naomi House and Jacksplace, this alone wasn't enough to fulfil our mission and raise our target amount, so in 2016 we teamed up with Richmond Motor Group to raffle a brand new Citroen C1 in aid of Naomi House and Jacksplace. All our offices came together with great enthusiasm, taking the car to numerous events around Hampshire and Portsmouth, raising an incredible amount of funds.
Following our community efforts with Naomi House, we were overwhelmed and grateful to not only be nominated but win The News Retail & Leisure Awards Community Contribution Of The Year 2016! Due to our previous success in fundraising efforts, in 2019, we teamed up again with Richmond Motor Group to raffle a brand new MG3. Our fantastic staff, across all ten offices, attended over 20 local community events to spread awareness and sell as many tickets as possible. Both car raffles were a huge success, and our contributions allowed Naomi House to continue its vital work.
The success of any company is hinged on its support for the community, and at Beal's that starts with giving something back.
TESTIMONIAL
From Sarah Hudson, Area Fundraiser - Naomi House and Jacksplace:
"Beals are a business with community at their core. Over the last few years, they have made generous donations on an annual basis to our hospices. Encouraging each of their branches to be involved in local community activities and events not only raising money but also increasing awareness of our Hospices. The commitment to do this comes from the top of the organisation.
In 2016 and 2019, Beal's donated two brand new cars. Through collaboration and teamwork with ourselves and Beal’s, the cars were taken to over 20 community locations and events in our fundraising area before the lottery draw date to help us raise the £10,000 target that Beals had as their target.
The employees at Beal’s have also been exceptional in taking time out of their lives to assist us at markets and events collaborating with our volunteers.
It is these sterling efforts that make a real and lasting difference to the lives of local life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families.
Thank you to everyone at Beal's for all they do to support us."

Their Story in Their Words
I lost my son, Josh, on 25th November 2020 to suicide at 21 years old. After examining Josh's phone, my daughter, Alice, found that he had been researching techniques to take his own life via harmful internet searches. The content available online following a search of this nature currently provides mental health support in one format; a helpline.
Mental health is a serious and urgent issue. Online searches for suicide methods have increased by 50% in the last 2 years with searches for suicide support lines also up by 150% since January 2019. (Semrush, 2021)
To ensure more help and support is given to individuals searching for harmful content online, we set up R;pple Suicide Prevention. R;pple is a browser extension interceptive tool designed to ensure more help and support is provided to individuals who are conducting searches relating to self-harm or suicide. R;pple consists of a message of hope as well as a selection of mental health resources in a range of different options (call, text, webchat) from free, established and 24/7 charity services.
The Impact
- To date, our technology has been downloaded over 130,000 times, with schools, colleges, universities, parents, carers and charities able to download R;pple, free of charge (fee required from businesses).
- 22 external individuals have approached R;pple to inform them that the tool intercepting them online at their most vulnerable point has saved their life and that they are now receiving mental health support.
- R;pple has won 8 awards in the mental health space, after only officially launching in September 2021.
- R;pple has gained significant UK media coverage, reaching over 8.5 million people and appearing on national television, radio and press.
